New
Palestinian non-violent strategy ignored by US Media
|

PMWATCH - Feb 4, 2002 -- The article below from Haa'retz (Feb.
5, 2002) points to a hopeful sign of maturity in the Palestinian
strategy for liberation. It also illustrates vividly the mind-boggling
manipulative cynicism of Sharon and his outright criminal circle.
Clearly, the one thing that Sharon and all Israeli governments
before him have feared the most has been precisely this kind of
development: a grass-roots, non-violent movement from Palestinians,
in coalition with Israelis, against which Ariel Sharon's US-supplied
Apaches and F16s will be able to do NOTHING!
Meanwhile,
the US media still somehow manages to ignore this emerging movement.
This is truly a case of staggering hypocrisy, because one of the
US media's favorite tropes has been their lambasting of Arafat
and the Palestinians for not formulating a non-violent strategy.
